Piston Pump
The Piston Pump is a positive displacement pump where the pumping effect is due to the alternate movement of a piston inside a pressure chamber. The Piston Pump is suitable and used for pumping large quantity of product, or when the height to reach is important, or when the product is less viscous to use a conveyor. The Piston pump is usefully applied in the large capacity plant to load the malaxer, or in the 2-phase plant to move the sludge from the decanter to the external deposit. The Piston Pump has a strong and heavy structure made in cast iron, while parts in contact with the product are made in stainless steel AISI 304.

WORKING PRINCIPLE
The Piston Pump absorbs the pomace and pumps it to the desired place with alternating movement of the piston. The pomace level in the suction zone is controlled by level sensors. The Piston Pump may have its own control panel or being connected with the plant control panel. The Piston Pump has a special protection feature: dilution water is automatically added to the product to be pumped, in case the duty is requiring excess power and the current requested by the motor is becoming too high. This feature protects the motor without stopping the pumping process.
