I understand the difficulties our woman colleagues have in breast-feeding after I have become a mother. I could go home and feed my daughter within day since my home is within 5 minute’s drive to my work. I heard grandmothers of our woman colleagues’ babies bring them to work during lunch break and they nurse their babies in car because their homes are far away from the work. This affected me so much. In addition, I also sometimes had to milk at work when meetings were intense. I started to think what to do and encountered “My Milk Time” project of Philips as a result of my researches. They supply Avent Natural Electronic Breast Pump, 3in1 Steam Sterilizer, milk storage boxes, milk storage bags, milking room guide and nursing kit on condition that there is a convenient room and refrigerator. We immediately applied and they sent the products. We know it is vital for our mothers to feed their babies with breast milk more comfortable and for a longer time. Therefore, we support to ensure a comfortable and hygienic nursing environment for nursing mothers and suitable conditions for woman employees of HAUS who return from maternity leave to milk for healthy development of their babies. We have become one of top 50 companies in Turkey with the collaboration of HAUS and Philips within the scope of the project. This is proud and pleasing for us. Milking rooms are rare in companies in Turkey. So, many women quit nursing after they return to work. I would like to share some surveys with you;
*While 72,3 percent of women stated there is no nursing room in their companies,
*62,6 percent of women who have a nursing room in their companies stated they use the rooms,
*While 41 percent of women working in companies with nursing rooms stated they return to work early thanks to these rooms, 95 percent stated these rooms are important,
*95 percent of women working in companies without nursing rooms stated they want to have such rooms;
*40 percent of these women stated they would be motivated to return to work if they had such a room,
*65 percent of women stated milking gives happiness,
*30 percent of them stated their performance increases when they milk,
*80 percent of them stated they feel they can meet their babies’ needs when they milk,
*80 percent of them stated they can continue their careers without going through any health problem because they milk,
*65 percent of them stated they live the happiness of being a mother without being separated from their careers when they milk,
*70 percent of women stated that they feel they are a better mother when they milk,
*Women told about the importance their company gives to women if there is a nursing room there (85 percent) and this represents the support for motivation (70 percent). In addition, the survey shows benefits of nursing rooms including increase in continuity of milk (85 percent), enhancement of milk productivity (73 percent) and feeding of baby with breast milk (85 percent). It makes us happy even to think we can contribute to such matters. We wish our milk time will be more enjoying and motivating with the contributions of Philips...
