Casein Industry
Casein is a protein found in milk and most of the dairy products are produced as a result of reaction of this protein with yeast. Nearly 80% of milk proteins is casein. Casein obtained upon certain processes is a valuable raw material for a number of industries. Food industry uses powder casein as a high quality protein. It is also used as raw material in sectors such as textile and paint.

Process Operation
Milk delivered to the factory is cleared from somatic cells and undesirable solid particles and then subjected to fat separation upon preheating. Cleaned low-fat milk is subjected to pasteurization and preheating processes and then coagulated with acid or rennet enzyme. The heated product (clotted casein - whey protein and other components) following the coagulation process is run through decanter centrifuge (HAUS DDF series decanter) to ensure solid/liquid phase separation. Casein separated from undesirable minerals (solid phase) is transferred to the dryers to produce powder and decanter liquid output is spared for processing in lactose process.
