HAUS Decanters and Separators contribute to the production activities of many leading fish oil and feed producers in Mexico.
Fish, which is an important source of protein; is of great importance in terms of human food and animal feed. The increase in fish demand has led to the development of aquaculture and industrial fisheries. Mexico is among the top 15 in the world in fish farming and hunting. Due to the fact that China is the largest producer in the world and the figures of export from China to the USA are high, fishing is prominent in Mexico, which is close to the USA. Mexico has approximately 11,500 kilometers of Pacific, Gulf of Mexico, and Caribbean coastlines, and its inland waters cover an area of more than 2.9 million hectares. The country’s coastal fisheries offer a rich variety of fish and other seafood. The Pacific coast has thirty-one ports and produces about three of four of Mexico’s total catch; The states of Sonora and Sinaloa alone account for 40% of the total catch.
HAUS Centrifuge Technologies sold decanters and separators to 2 companies in Mexico - Sonora region, engaged in fishing and having feed/oil production facilities in 2020. The machines were commissioned in 2021; the company’s production capacity has been increased, and by-products of higher quality and higher efficiency have been obtained. Facilities work on the processing of fresh fish brought by hunting. The caught fish are brought to the facility by ships, passed through the continuous cookers and fed to the 2-phase HAUS decanters, and then fed to the 3-phase HAUS concentrators to provide separation. HAUS equipment operating in this facility is designed to process fish in the capacity range of 15-25 m3 per hour. At the same time, as HAUS, we have a product portfolio that can process 80-90m3 fish per hour in this process.
The oil-free water phase coming out of the HAUS Separators during the process; has a high dissolved protein content; It is dried by evaporators to contain 30-35% dry matter and added to fish feeds. During the commissioning of HAUS Decanters and Separators, test studies were carried out by processing different fish species and the equipment was optimized in settings to work in the most appropriate way for the requirements of the process. Decanters working according to PID torque control system; It can provide solid and liquid phase separation with superior performance even under variable conditions (changes in solid/water/oil ratios), easing the load of the separators considerably. During the commissioning process, detailed tests and analyzes were carried out, and comprehensive trainings were given to our customers; The equipment has been delivered in working condition.
We are aware that the fishing season is tough and short! In addition to the performance of the machines, they must work uninterruptedly when the fishing vessels arrive at the facility. The smallest malfunctions and unplanned stops can cause great losses. Our equipments are kept under control 24/7 with the HAUS RS system and their performance is constantly monitored. Detailed analysis of the parameters was made with the RS System, and the data of the processed product was recorded and reports were made to the customers.
